Scouts are 10½–14 years old.
Our Scout Troop is named Bonington Troop, after Sir Chris Bonington. It consists of small units of six to eight Scouts called a Patrol, led by a Patrol Leader.
Outdoor activities feature prominently, with the highlight being camping, going several times a year. Throughout the year Scouts learn various skills, such as map reading, camp cooking and first aid in preparation for camp.
Activities in 2018 included Fencing, Archery, Kayaking, Painting, Cooking (Rabbit, Squirrel, Crocodile and Mackerel). Scouts have been Outdoor Swimming, Camping (lots), and taken part in the Blakfoot Hike Competition!
We also take part in local community events, St George’s Day, Bauming the Thorn, Remembrance Day, Carol Services and other events.
We meet on Thursday at 19:30 – 21:00
